Bonjour

I am Deepak Rajput (Dee) and I live/work in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I work full-time as a process engineer at Intel Corporation (Hillsboro, Oregon). I worked part-time as a visiting scholar in the Nano Interfaces Group, headed by Dr. Shankar Rananavare, at the Department of Chemistry, Portland State University (Portland, Oregon) on weekends while working full time at Intel Corporation.

Prior to moving to Oregon, I worked as a Research Associate at the Center for Laser Applications (CLA), The University of Tennessee Space Institute (UTSI), Tullahoma. I joined the University of Tennessee in Fall 2006 as a graduate student and worked as a graduate research assistant to Dr. William Hofmeister. I received a Masters of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2008 and completed requirements for a Doctor of Philosophy degree in December 2012. I graduated in Spring 2013 with a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology - Trichy, India, in 2004.
Prior to joining UT, I worked in the Research and Development division of Essar Steel Limited (acquired by ArcelorMittal), a premier steel making company in India. I worked here for two years as an R&D engineer and was in charge of the Materials Characterization Laboratory.
